Dismayed about the rash of racism and discrimination in India, from singling out Africans to beating up northeasterners? Breathe easy; India is in ''good company.'' Discrimination of various kinds - racial, ethnic, linguistic etc - is very much a worldwide phenomenon, including in ''the greatest country on earth'' that is supposed to have reached the acme of civilization and egalitarian virtues.



 Some even began calling for a boycott of Coca-Cola products, with several people pledging to switch to a rival soft drink.



Dozens of languages are spoken in the US today, with some 60 million people speaking a language other than English - most commonly Spanish, which is why the SuperBowl was also broadcast in Spanish for the first time. Most of all, the United States has no official language.
