Gone are the days when people hunt for the bull to get their work done. LS 3 (Legged Squad Support System) robot has been designed by US to accompany soldiers and Marines any place they go on foot, helping to carry their gear.



Ever felt lonely on the dance floor? Check out this musical robot developed by the EPFL called "BlueBotics" which are able to act autonomously and interact with the humans according to the command.



Toyota Motor Corp has come up with robots which play musical instruments.



Get this! Japanese robotics research institution ATR developed a robot named "Robovie-II". This robot greets the shopper at the entrance of the store, follows him to the shelves while holding a grocery basket and reminds him of the items on a  shopping list, which the shopper would have entered beforehand in a specialized mobile device.



Check out the robot "The Incredible Bionic Man" at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington. The robot is the World's first-ever functioning bionic man made of prosthetic parts and artificial organ implants.



Check out the bipedal humanoid robot, "Topio" designed to play table tennis against a human being at the International Robot Exhibition.



Japanese company has come up with a robot which can cook as per the command. In this picture, a robot cooks Okonomiyaki (Japanese savoury pancakes) during a demonstration at the FOOMA Japan international food machinery and technology exhibition in Tokyo.



Japanese toy maker Sega Toy has come up with robot chick "Yume Hiyoko" (Dream Chick) which cheeps and move its wings at the touch of human hands is not only a toy for children but also a healing gadget for adults, the company said.

Humanoid robot bartender "Carl", developed and built by mechatronics engineer Ben Schaefer who runs a company for humanoid robots, prepares spirits for the mixing of cocktails and is able to interact with customers in small conversations.



Dentsu Inc, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo, Robo Garage and Toyota announced that their jointly developed robot astronaut, called Kirobo, will be aboard the Kounotori 4 cargo spacecraft scheduled for launch from the Tanegashima Space Center to the International Space Station (ISS).



"Yo! Sushi" restaurant in London announced a flying sushi service tray known as the "itray", created using miniature remote-controlled helicopter rotor blades which deliver the food to its customers.



A Japanese university has developed two humanoid bartender and waiter robots that can also wash dishes -- sort of. The two robots, named HRP-2 NO.7 and NO.8, work as a pair to serve drinks and then collect the empty glasses. They are also designed to open a faucet and place objects beneath it.



Check out the humanoid robot ROBOY developed by Artificial Lab of the University of Zuerich during a media presentation. A project team, composed of scholars and industry representatives, has been working on ROBOY since June 2012.



Take a look at the four- meter-high, limited edition, made-to-order robot named "Kuratas" which is controlled through a pilot in its cockpit, or via a smartphone. The four-tonne (4,000 kg) "Kuratas" can be customised in 16 different colours, and is armed with a futuristic weapons system, including a multi-rocket launcher that fires plastic rockets filled with compressed water.

Robots are displayed at the three-day Innorobo 2012 fair as companies and research centres present their latest technologies in robotics in Lyon.
